Arrest of Ireton at Harwich
On April 21, 1685 as Henry Ireton disembarks from the packet-boat from Holland, he is arrested by Government officials as a warrant was issued for his seizure.
Ireton is carrying coded messages from Monmouth about the planned invasions in Scotland and England. However, these are only partial and don’t contain exact dates or locations. Other messengers had been sent earlier with this aspect of the plans.
