Taking Eilean Dearg

At high tide, Capt. Hamilton in HMS Kingfisher crosses the rocky shallows into Loch Ruel, followed by HMS Falcon & HMS Mermaid. As they turn to fire on the castle they are surprised to see a small rowing boat approaching with a white flag. It contains the prisoners taken y the Whigs on Orkney. They warn the Captain that a fuse has been lit into the powder magazine. Acting quickly, a landing party is sent across, who with just seconds to go cut the fuse. Outside HMS Falcon seizes the David and the Anna.
