Death of the Duke of Monmouth

The death of the Duke of Monmouth took place on Tower Hill, on 15 July 1685. The Duke had been found guilty of High Treason for his Rebellion by Parliament after news of his landing at Lyme reached Whitehall. A price of £5,000 was put on his head for his capture dead or alive.
